Tammy and Linda offer a unique approach to their retreats. They offer a safe and intimate setting. Through writing prompts, we learn quickly that we as women share so many of the same experiences, and that we matter, and that our stories matter.
The first two days the writers are getting comfortable and finding their voice responding to the many prompts and workshops. By the third day of the retreat, a type of magic happens with the writers. There is a sisterhood that develops when writing together. Many times throughout the retreats someone will declare, “I never thought I would share this with anyone…”
Together through writing they find acceptance and face their life choices with courage and forgiveness discovering that everyone has a story to tell. We witness the stories unfold told so beautifully and accepted by all that bear witness.
Tammy discovered the magic of Loreto Bay on a visit in December of 2013 and a year later
moved to Loreto Bay, where she now resides. When she is not busy teaching or writing, Tammy can be found walking the beach with her dog, Bruce, in the afternoons. Tammy, a passionate and caring teacher, conducts a free weekly writing workshop on Mondays in Loreto Bay for residents who have a story and want to learn how to tell it.
Linda, the other half of TLC Writing Retreats, lives in Palm Desert, California, as well as in Northern Arizona, with her husband, Ron, where they just completed designing and building a gorgeous home in the mountains. Linda is available to answer questions at Linda@TLCWritingRetreats.com. Although separated now by distance, Tammy and Linda talk regularly about what they are writing, the business at hand, and upcoming retreats.
