Tammy L. Coia
Tammy L. Coia is a speaker, author, teacher, curriculum and writing consultant for nearly three decades. Tammy Coia’s motivational and reflective seminars and classes have made her one of the elite teachers in the memoir writing field. She is the President and founder of TLC Writing Workshops, a national (and soon-to-be international) company providing programs and products that turn memories and words into meaningful memoirs.
She was voted businesswoman of the year in the bay area and her educational center was ranked #1 for seven years in a row. She has served on the board of The National League of American Pen Women and the Palm Springs Writer’s Guild. Tammy taught the Writing for Wellness classes at the Lucy Curci Cancer Center at Eisenhower Hospital and classes for the InterValley Health Plan of Coachella Valley.
Tammy is the author of Fig on a Stick, an autobiographical children’s book about turning ten and the trials of being a middle child. She uses humor to reach children. Tammy is also the author of “The Complete Memoir Workbook” a self-guided tour of getting your meaningful life and memories into a format to share with others.
She brings over 25 years of experience of facilitating both the young and mature into finding their voice and becoming more of whom they are.
Tammy is co-founder of TLC Writing Retreats where from the moment you arrive you will feel safe, supported and encouraged to find and tell your own story.
Tammy currently lives in Loreto, Baja with her 5 pound chihuahua named Bruce. When she is not writing she can be found walking the beach or making friends in town.
Tammy has a B.S. in Education and is eager to help others in sharing their lives with others and believes every ONE has a story.
Linda George Brown
Balancing the TLC team is Linda George Brown. A creative and enthusiastic opinion leader with more than 40 years of experience making an impact across diverse communities – military, corporate and volunteer. Linda is a Navy veteran, an avid golfer with 2 holes in one to show for it and proud grandmother of 5. She has been married to her husband, Ron, for 30 years. When not working on one of the many TLC Writing Retreats, she divides her time between her California desert home, and her home in Northern Arizona.
Linda followed her corporate husband to Southeast Asia for 15 years over three different moves enabling her to experience different cultures by working and volunteering with local organizations and multi-national corporations. These moves allow Linda to bring a broad view of the world to her writing.
While living in Southeast Asia, Linda served on several boards of community organizations; The American Association of Singapore, the American Women’s Association of Singapore, the International Business Women’s Association of Singapore and the American Women’s Club of Thailand as well as local charities. Her expertise was corporate fundraising and large events. She has shown exceptional strength in creating new events.
Linda’s enthusiasm and passion she brings to each writing retreat is just how she lives her life. She’s been writing for many years and her works have been published in Arizona Life, Sawaddi Asian Arts and Culture, Bangkok, Thailand and the Los Gatos Times.
Linda is currently working on a series of short stories on her life overseas. She has reinvented herself many times over, learning that we each have many facets to uncover and strengths to call upon. Raised by a story teller she has spent a lifetime learning the art of telling a good story. Luckily she’s lived an interesting life.
